Туалеты как памятник архитектуры, или возле чего в Запорожье сидит Саша Савченко

Перекресток проспекта Соборного и проспекта Металлургов имеет довольно длинную и интересную историю. Когда-то здесь было много интересных объектов, а сегодня здесь мало что напоминает о былой обстановке. Давайте вспомним, что здесь было когда-то, и что здесь есть сегодня. Итак, садитесь в нашу виртуальную машину времени, мы начинаем!

Скульптуры

В рамках строительства образцового Соцгорода немалое внимание уделялось и обустройству мест для отдыха граждан, а также внешним атрибутам аккуратности и благополучия. В ту пору нынешний проспект Металлургов именовался Аллей Энтузиастов, которая вела прямиком к запорожской промышленной площадке.

Для прогулок и отдыха был разбит небольшой сквер. Сегодня на его месте находится «Макдональдс». В этом сквере были дорожки, скамейки. В жаркую погоду рядом всегда продавали прохладную газированную воду. Ради нее сюда всегда приходили многие запорожцы.

Главным элементом сквера был цветочный календарь, а также две скульптуры по бокам. Этот живой календарь переделывали каждый день, выкладывая из цветов новую дату. Необычная традиция, но довольно красивая. Скульптуры же сначала было две. Одна из них изображала летчика, а вторая танкиста. Обе эти военные специальности пользовались большим почетом в Советском Союзе до войны. Вовсю снимались фильмы, посвященные и тем, и другим. Стать, к примеру, летчиком – было очень почетно, и сотни мальчишек и девчонок шли заниматься в аэроклубах. Кстати, в расположенном неподалеку парке имени Кирова тогда была парашютная вышка.

Позже скульптур стало больше, появились изображения пионера и других «знаковых» персонажей советского времени. К сожалению, просуществовали они недолго. Период оккупации они не пережили, а после войны восстанавливать их почему-то не стали. Кстати, предполагалось, что скульптур будет намного больше. Встречается информация о том, что хотели разместить тут 60 скульптур различных вождей.

Туалеты

Перейдем на другую сторону улицы. Там нас поджидают два необычных здания, соединенные ажурной аркой. В стенах построек видны небольшие окна-иллюминаторы. Если не знать, что здесь находится – то можно подумать, что здесь находятся какие-то кассы или место для развлечений. Но на самом деле тут располагались общественные туалеты.

Их проектировали те же архитекторы, что и остальную часть Соцгорода. Потому даже здания туалетов были выдержаны в том же стиле. Между двумя туалетами располагалась скульптура медведя. Зверь сидел на своем «мягком» месте, и, очевидно, своей позой приглашал посетить туалет. Своей мордой медведь был обращен в сторону сквера со скульптурами.

Медведь и туалеты

Войну медведь не пережил, и куда-то делся. Вместо него между туалетами разместилась ваза с цветами. Она была создана на средства завода «Днепроспецсталь». Трогать цветочную вазу руками запрещалось, но наши люди всегда любили нарушать запреты. Очевидно, именно поэтому жизнь вазы тоже была недолгой.

А вот туалеты прожили долгую и насыщенную жизнь. Ежедневно миом них проходили сотни жителей города, и в старых фотоальбомах запорожцев наверняка можно найти фото, сделанные в здешней арке. Постепенно они приходили в упадок, но продолжали служить людям верой и правдой. Пережили они и немецкую оккупацию, и многократные переименования улицы. Сначала она была Аллеей Энтузиастов, потом проспектом Сталина, а потом, в 1961 году название сменилось на нынешнее.

Конец же туалетам настал в 2002 году. Тогда в рамках реконструкции было решено установить здесь монумент, возвеличивающий запорожскую промышленность. То, что вышло в итоге сложно назвать хоть сколько-нибудь достойной реализацией данного замысла.

Памятник туалетам

В 2002 году туалеты уступают место новому монументу. Он представляет собой шпиль, на который как будто прилеплены образцы продукции запорожских металлургических предприятий. Выглядит это все как какие-то заплатки, особенно если не подходить близко. При ближайшем рассмотрении можно увидеть некоторые сюжеты, на отдельных заплатках. Но ситуацию все это спасает слабо.

Вот она, «гордость» города…

Монумент должен был прославить мощь запорожских заводов. Но в итоге он стал памятником безвкусице и бездарности. Шпиль, утыканный пластинами металла, совершенно не выглядит ни стильным, ни красивым. С 2002 года эта инсталляция уродует один из главных перекрестков города. Запорожцы прозвали ее «памятником туалетам», которые и находились на ее месте.

Отчасти ситуацию исправляет другая инсталляция. Она представляет собой скамейку, на которой сидит Саша Савченко, герой самого известного среди запорожцев фильма – «Весна на Заречной улице». Он как будто приглашает посидеть рядом, пока не пришла на свидание его девушка – учительница Таня Левченко. Раньше тут даже можно было услышать музыку из фильма, но уже довольно давно установка не работает.

Макдональдс

Там, где когда-то был уютный сквер и скульптуры, сейчас стоит ресторан быстрого питания «Макдональдс». Впрочем, это здание тоже претерпело некоторые изменения. Изначально планировалось открыть несколько таких заведений по городу, но экономически реалии не позволили этого сделать.

Открыли ресторан 4 декабря 1999 года. На его месте до того был цветочный базарчик. Он, собственно и сейчас почти на том же месте, только переехал немного дальше от проспекта. Макдональдс по тем временам был очнь популярным заведением. Почти каждый запорожский ребенок конца 90-х/начала «нулевых» жаждал попасть сюда и получить не только картошку фри, но и пресловутую игрушку.

В 2011 году в данном заведении состоялась битва футбольных фанатов. Дело было после мачта местного «Металлурга» и «Севастополя». Фанаты «Севастополя» сидели в Макдональдсе на втором этаже, на открытой летней площадке. Увидев проходящих мимо фанатов запорожского клуба, гости начали выкрикивать что-то оскорбительное в их адрес. Естественно, запорожцы не могли не ответить и решили совершить «визит вежливости». Крымчане забаррикадировались и приготовились отбиваться, но это им слабо помогло. Драка все-таки началась, а посетители ресторана стали уходить куда подальше. Дальнейшей драке воспрепятствовало прибытие дополнительных сил милиции в виде печально известного подразделения «Беркут».

Современный вид Макдональдса

В своем первоначальном виде «Макдональдс» просуществовал вплоть до 2019 года. Потом там состоялась реконструкция. Первое открытие обернулось скандалом: толпа страждущих в буквальном смысле вломилась внутрь, чуть не выдавив стекла в дверях. Сегодня «Макдональдсов» в нашем городе уже три, но самый первый все равно остается популярным.
