В Запорожье есть несколько мест, которые довольно интересны сами по себе, особенно если знать их предисторию. Они находятся в разных частях города и не всегда легкодоступны, но это не останавливает немногочисленных энтузиастов. Давайте разберемся, что же у нас есть интересного.
Конечно же, Асуанская плотина находится в Египте. Но без огромного вклада специалистов из Советского Союза этот проект вряд ли был бы воплощен в жизнь. Помимо того, что СССР оказал материальную помощь (был выделен огромный денежный кредит), советские инженеры приняли участие в проектировании самого сооружения.
В ходе работ потребовалось провести натурные испытания. В качестве полигона подобрали Запорожье, поскольку у нас был подходящий по характеристикам местности участок. Здесь и построили макет плотины в масштабе 1:50. Задач у макета было две. Первая – он использовался для испытаний. А вторая была едва ли не важнее первой – доказать арабским товарищам правильность инженерных расчетов. Арабы не верили в возможность сооружения плотины в том виде, в котором ее видели советские инженеры.
На работу потребовалось около двух лет. Возведение макета удалось закончить в 1959 году. Специально был прорыт канал шириной в 10 метров, и длиной около 50 метров. В него подвели воду и провели полноценные испытания. Все завершилось хорошо, и совместная советско-египетская комиссия одобрила проект строительства.

В марте 1960 начались работы уже непосредственно в Египте, а 1964 было завершено перекрытие Нила. На торжественной церемонии присутствовали Никита Хрущев, египетский президент Гамаль Абдель Насер, президент Алжира Ферхат Аббас и президент Ирака Абдул Салам Ареф.
Запорожское же сооружение осталось никому не нужным. Воду сюда подавать перестали,а на месте канала сейчас находится отработка из расположенного поблизости карьера. Никакой памяткой архитектуры или чем-то подобным это место не является.
Вообще, бывать здесь довольно опасно. Работы на карьере ведутся в том числе и взрывного характера, поэтому можно получить серьезную травму, или вообще лишиться жизни. Если хотите увидеть макет, то лучше заранее договориться в карьероуправлении. Да и вообще, опытный проводник не помешает – без его помощи найти это сооружение будет весьма затруднительно.
Пока что нет никакой надежды на то, что макет признают памятником архитектуры хотя бы местного значения. Хотя по большому счету, это место можно было бы сделать одним из туристических объектов города. Только нужно обеспечить возможность безопасного подхода и осмотра сооружения. Но, судя по всему, городским властям это не очень интересно. Да и вообще, в курсе ли они о существовании в Запорожье такого уникального сооружения? Судя по тому, что за годы независимости оно никому не оказалось нужным, ответ на этот вопрос однозначный.
Если случайно окажетесь на Верхней Хортице, в районе партизанской балки, обратите внимание на железнодорожную насыпь, проходящая дугой вокруг балки. Казалось бы, ничего особенного, правда?
А если мы скажем, что этой железной дороги уже более сотни лет? При строительстве Екатерининской железной дороги выяснилось, что рельеф местности тут весьма пересеченный. Поэтому полотно и обустроили на насыпи.
Но насыпь могло и размыть. Все дело в том, что насыпь перекрыла рукава балки, по которым текли ручьи, наполнявшие в период половодья реку Хортичанку. Перекрытый рукав привел бы к тому, что вода подмывала бы насыпь, и железная дорога оказалась бы разрушенной. Необходимо было техническое решение.

Вот именно в целях решения этой проблемы и были построены каменные тоннели. Всего их там насчитывается 5 штук. Некоторые из них узкие, некоторые – широкие. Кстати, с широкими тоннелями связан один из локальных мифов. Якобы, их сделали для того, чтобы танки могли скрываться в них от бомбежек и быстрее проходить по местности.
Но первые танки пошли в бой в 1916 году, а к тому моменту тоннели уже давно были построены. Да и в будущем в окрестностях Запорожья не было ни одной танковой части – ни до Второй мировой, ни после нее. Тем не менее, до сих пор можно услышать рассказы о “танковых” тоннелях.
Почти все запорожцы видели танк Т-34-85 на площади Университетской и макет самолета Ла-5 на бульваре Шевченко. Они посвящены солдатам советской армии, оборонявшим Запорожье в 1941 году, и освободившим его от немецкой оккупации в 1943 году.
Одним из малоизвестных памятников, посвященных войне, является зенитка возле ДК завода “Запорожтрансформатор”. Что любопытно, это орудие действительно соответствует событиям, которым оно посвящено. Именно такими зенитными орудиями была вооружена батарея 16 зенитно-артиллерийского полка, вступившая в бой с немецкими войсками 18 августа. Согласно довоенным планам, задачей полка была защита заводов и плотины ДнепроГЭС от бомбардировок с воздуха. Но утром этого летнего дня противник у бойцов ПВО был другой. Ситуация была безвыходной – позиции атаковала бронетехника, а бронебойных снарядов имелись считанные единицы. Да и не должны были зенитчики вступать в бой с бронетехникой и мотопехотой.
Конечно, немцы захватили позиции, а большая часть бойцов была либо убита, или попала в плен. Но ценой жизни нескольких десятков советских солдат было получено время на эвакуацию заводов и жителей города. Если “поднять” документы полка, то можно увидеть, что за 18 августа более 40 человек пропали без вести. Это не считая тех, кого списали как убитых в бою. Сопротивление вынудило немцев развернуться в боевые порядки. Пришлось атаковать позиции “по всем правилам”, потеряв тем самым шанс взять Запорожье сходу. А ведь паника в городе в те дни была колоссальной, и немецкие солдаты вполне могли ворваться в Запорожье на плечах бегущих на восток паникеров.

После войны, чтобы увековечить память героев-зенитчиков, в парке установили памятник в виде орудия 52-К. В расчете каждой такой пушки было 6 человек.
На острове Хортица есть кладбище. Многие скажут – ну и что, там же живут люди, почему бы там не быть кладбищу? Да, все это так. Но много ли в нашем городе кладбищ, которым уже сотни лет? Вот то-то и оно! Большая часть старинных кладбищ нашего города, увы, не дошла до наших дней. Мы лишь примерно знаем их расположение благодаря старинным картам.
Зато старое меннонитское кладбище частично сохранилось и сегодня. Если походить между рядов, можно увидеть могильные камни, датированные еще XVIII веком! Таким образом, это могилы еще тех, самых первых колонистов, которые прибыли на Хортицу по приглашению российской императрицы Екатерины.
